Collection consists of a typewritten letter addressed "To the Druggists and Physicians" registered under the Harrison Narcotic
Law, asking that they provide information on drug addicts and narcotic prescriptions. The letter outlines the information
needed and asks that it be provided in a list or statement. The letter also defines the term addict as "any person who is
a confirmed user of opium or coca leaves, their salts, derivatives or preparations." It closes with a note, "I am appealing
to your patriotic sense of duty to furnish on the enclosed blank the information requested." The document is typesigned "R.C.L.
Moncure, Collector" and the head of document reads: "Treasury Department, Internal Revenue Service, Richmond--Virginia."
