Partially sponsored by a grant from the Oregon Arts Council, the collectively written and produced "Mort’s Port: ‘Café By the Sea,’" ran for five nights with a cast and crew of 44 women and six men.

Scope and Content of Collection

This collection includes reel-to-reel audiotapes, a transcribed script, musical scores, newsclippings and other material that constitute a record of a musical production by the (mostly) lesbian and bisexual community of Eugene, Oregon in 1978. Partially sponsored by a grant from the Oregon Arts Council, the collectively written and produced “Mort’s Port: ‘Café By the Sea,’” ran for five nights with a cast and crew of 44 women and six men. Some participants were members of the Wallflower Dance Collective, including Terri Yaffe and Bay Area activists Adrienne Lauby, an independent writer, radio producer and advocate for people with disabilities; and dancer, choreographer and co-founder of Wallflower and Dance Brigade, Krissy Keefer.
