Scope and Contents

3 8mm motion picture reels created by Zen'ichirō Uchida to serve as a visual correspondence between about 350 Japanese farm workers who came to the United States on refugee visas in 1955-1956 and their family members in Japan. The Japanese farm workers had three-year contracts to work in Japanese American-operated farm camps in various locations in California while their families waited to join them after completing their contracts.
