A collection of photographs taken
approximately 1942 of Southern California structures built in the late 19th century.
Huntington Library curator William A. Parish took the photographs to accompany a proposed
book on regional architecture, and his typescript draft is also part of the
William A. Parish (1906-1982) held several positions at the Huntington Library, rising to
Acting Art Curator and Curator of Prints. He authored a number of Huntington Library
exhibition catalogs, including one on English eighteenth-century architecture, published in
1.42 Linear Feet
The Huntington Library does not require that researchers request permission to quote from
or publish images of this material, nor does it charge fees for such activities. The
responsibility for identifying the copyright holder, if there is one, and obtaining
necessary permissions rests with the researcher.
