e-mails, election materials, meeting minutes, membership materials, materials about outings and programs, records from other
chapters, and scrapbooks of news clippings.

Biography/Administrative History
This collection contains materials relating to the activities of Alan Weaver, co-founder of the Gay and Lesbian Sierrans (GLS),
the first queer Sierra Club section in the United States.
Scope and Content of Collection
GLS documents include organizational records, correspondence and e- mails, election materials, meeting minutes, membership
materials, materials about outings and programs, records from other chapters, and scrapbooks of news clippings. The collection
also documents Weaver’s other interests, which include religion and spirituality, politics, and athletics. Other organizations
represented in the collection are the California Men’s Gathering, the United Church of Christ, the San Francisco Lesbian and
Gay Voters Project, Pride at Work, and the San Francisco FrontRunners. The collection also contains t-shirts and artifacts.
