Subseries 2.3. Sacramento Parishes

Scope and Contents

This subseries contains a wide variety of material organized into subject files by parish and by ethnic groups served by parishes, especially the Cathedral and St. Stephens. A parish file might contain Baptismal records, financial reports to the Diocese, correspondence with the Bishop, parish boundary maps, articles from local newspapers, and memoirs and interviews with parishioners. In addition, some parishes have autobiographies, memoirs, and correspondence of religious orders serving the parishes and their schools. Ethnic folders contain interviews, newspaper articles, secondary articles, and material from the Sacramento ethnic community surveys.
