Biography
Larry Siegel was born in New York City in 1925 and attended the University of Illinois. Siegel started his career as a freelance
writer for Playboy and Mad magazines. When he moved to California in 1968, he began writing for television, motion picutures,
and stage. Siegel's television credits include that of head writer for
The Carol Burnett Show for three and a half seasons, and story editor for
Thats My Mama among others. He is the recipient of Emmy Awards and a Writers Guild awards.
Scope and Content
The collection consists of script material related to the career of film and television writer Larry Siegel. The bulk of the
collection represents the
The Carol Burnett Show. Additionally there are scripts for the television shows
That's My Mama,
Love, American Style,
God Bless Our House,
Be It Ever So Humble,
Oh Nurse, and
The Mad Mad Mad Movie of the Week.
