Biography/Administrative History

UCSF Educational Media Resources was formerly known as the Communications Office for Research and Teaching (CORT). It oversaw the production of instructional films and other media for the university.

Scope and Content of Collection

ollection consists primarily of films produced at UCSF with and by UCSF house staff. Included in the collection are teaching films made for medical and allied (pharmacy, nursing and dentistry) schools, experiment documentation films which record research data or were used as part of a biomedical experiment, promotional films regarding preventive medicine/public health, films showing the evolution and/or development of medical/dental/etc. treatments, depicting research methodology, facilities and/or equipment in the health sciences. These films illustrate the evolution of the health sciences education at UCSF and in California, and document pioneering discoveries of UCSF researchers, clinicians, and other health care providers.
