Series 2: Albums (2 v. of incomplete series) 1937-1940

Physical Description: 405 photographs in 2 albums : gelatin silver prints ; prints approximately 20 x 25 cm (8 x 10 format)

Scope and Content

Shipbuilding, shipyard, and dry dock photographs that duplicate many of the photographs found in Series 1 volumes 20-22. These albums, called "Series 2" by the library, are volumes 17 and 19 of a different but incomplete run of volume numbers, and they are the only volumes in this number run that were held by the Moore family at the time of gift (2014, with notes indicating this was true in 1991.) Like the full run of volumes in Series 1, the albums are part of a chronological run, with volume number, dates, and photographic number range printed on the album spine. The purpose and use of this second series of duplicate photoraphs is unknown, as is the reason that the volume numbering scheme is not parallel to that of Series 1 (e.g., v. 17 has content found in v.20-21 of Series 1.)
