This collection includes interview transcripts and reports related to the USC History Media Institute. This collection does
not contain any recorded AV materials. The reports include Dr. Carl Mason's five year plan for the History Media Institute,
and reports on the dissolution of the Institute.
The USC History Media Institute was created by the Department of Anthropology to document and interpret contemporary American
social and cultural history via audio and visual media studies, through recording an oral history of USC as well as interviews
of select California families and noteworthy people. The Institute was active from 1984-1987.
