    Biographical / Historical

    Dick Kramer was the conductor for the San Francisco Gay Men's Chorus from 1978-1982. He started the Dick Kramer Gay Men's Chorale (DKGMC) in 1982 and was its conductor until 1988. DKGMC was a founding member of the GALA Choruses (Gay and Lesbian Association of Choruses) in 1983. The group reorganized into the Golden Gate Men's Chorus in 1988.
    Greg Vogel handled public relations for the chorale in the mid-1980s.

    Scope and Contents

    The collection contains programs, flyers, photographs, newspaper clippings, and other publicity materials for the Dick Kramer Gay Men's Chorale, a San-Francisco based organization. It also includes audiorecordings of four concerts. In addition there are some materials on other LGBT choruses and associations.

    Arrangement

    The collection is arranged by format into two series: Series 1. Documents and Photographs; and, Series 2. Audiorecordings. Series 1 is subdivided into a section for The Dick Kramer Gay Men's Chorale material (organized chronologically), and material about other choruses.
