Background
Delos W. Lake (1840-1868), resident of Adamsville, Cass County Michigan, joined Co. E of the 19th Regiment of Michigan Infantry
in August 1862 in Dowagiac, Michigan. He served with the regiment in Kentucky, Ohio, Tennessee, Georgia, and the Carolinas,
taking part in operations at Spring Hill and Thompson's Station, Tullahoma Campaign, garrison duty at Murfreesboro and McMinnville,
Tennessee, Atlanta Campaign, Sherman March to the Sea, Campaign in the Carolinas, march to Washington, and the grand review
in May 1865. He was mustered out in June 1865.
