Historical note
University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) School of Library Services was founded in 1958. The first class graduated in
1961.In 1973 the School of Library Service (SLS) was renamed Graduate School of Library and Information Science (GSLIS). In
1993, encouraged by Chancellor Young's "Professional Schools Restructuring Initiative," the Graduate School of Education merged
with the GSLIS program to create the Graduate School of Education and Information Studies (GSEIS).
Scope and Content
Record Series 141 contains publications generated by the Graduate School of Library and Information Science at the University
