    Scope and Content of Collection

    These albums contain commercially produced color photographs produced by Lyman Cox and his Vanishing Vistas Company. In Album 102, the photos are arranged in three sections: Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Paul and Pacific, Denver & Rio Grande Western, and Chicago, Rock Island & Pacific. The postcards are primarily of diesel locomotives, passenger trains, and scenic vistas. The first half of Album 103 depicts Amtrak trains around California and the West. The second half of this album are of Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe Railway in California.
