Corporate History

The Pajaro Valley Oil Company incorporated June 21, 1901 in the Arizona territory, as a foreign corporation. The company office was located in San Francisco and the company's holdings of 1170 acres were located in Pajaro Valley, California.
Mention of the company can be found in a San Franciso directory from SF Geneaology.com; investment advertisements in Sunset Magazine 25 (July-Dec. 1910); and the Appendix to the Journals of the Senate and Assembly of the 35th session of the Legislature of the State of California. 1(1903):92.
The Watsonville Oil Company was located in Watsonville, California, and incorporated circa 1896. The president, F.A. Kilburn had at one point, 7235 acres of land under lease. The territory was located mainly in Santa Clara County, with a small portion extending into Santa Cruz County. There are papers indicating the lease of land from the Clara Land and Lumber Co. of San Francisco (incorporated Jan. 17, 1889) to the Watsonville Oil Company.
