Diploma issued to Jessie Chivas (a graduate of the Royal Infirmary, Aberdeen, Scotland, Training School for Nurses) on June 30, 1916 for completion of a post graduate course in the practice of nursing at the Southern Pacific General Hospital [San Francisco].
Ms. Chivas was born in 1888 in Portsoy, Scotland, and later married a Mr. Davis. She came to California in 1914 and worked as a nurse for the Southern Pacific Railroad in Roseville and Sparks.
