The material in the Jeffrey "Jeff" Root Collection mainly consists of documents and correspondence from Southern Pacific's
Passenger Traffic Department.
Background
Jeffrey Root worked for Southern Pacific for over thirty two years in the field of records management. He was assistant chief
clerk in the Operating Department of the Southern Pacific Company in San Francisco from 1984 until 1990, when the position
was abolished.
