    Abstract: This collection consists of around 1500 photographs and photographic postcards featuring the people, places, and events significant to the Mexican Revolution (1910-1920) from the studio of Luis Ramirez Pimentel, including many images from the Chihuahua Campaigns (circa 1910-1913).

    Processing of the Luis Ramirez Pimentel photographs of the Mexican Revolution was completed by undergraduate students from the University of California, Riverside as part of the Special Collections & University Archives Backlog Processing Project started in 2015. This project was funded by the UCR Library and administered by Jessica Geiser, Collections Management Librarian.

    Collection Scope and Contents

    The collection consists of around 1500 photographs and photographic postcards featuring the people, places and events significant to the Mexican Revolution from 1910-1920 from the studio of Luis Ramirez Pimentel. Many images in the collection are taken in Chihuahua Mexico, central battle ground of the Mexican Revolution. The collection includes photographs of generals and leaders of the revolution such as, Venustiano Carranza, Pascual Orozco, Porfio Diaz, Pancho Villa and Emiliano Zapata. The collection also includes photographs of Mexican artilleries, officials, federals and Zapatistas, scenery and different battle grounds. A few of the photographs and postcards give small descriptions which are located on the back or on the plastic sleeve.
