Rick Gerharter is a photojournalist and frequent contributer to the Bay Area Reporter. He has also published in Newsweek, Der Spiegel, Lonely Planet travel guides, and The Economist as well as many books. This collection contains photographs by Rick Gerharter, as well as T-shirts and other ephemera gathered by Gerharter in the course of his work. Included are photos from a 1989 Golden Gate Bridge protest by Stop AIDS Now or Else, a group that drew from ACT-UP and Queer Nation; photos from the GLBTHS’s ‘Sporting Life’ exhibit; and 26 photographs from GLBTHS’s June 14, 2006 exhibit 'Capturing the Moment: The Photojournalism of Rick Gerharter.'
