The collection contains information about Charles Lindbergh and people related to him, either through business or family. The majority of the collection regarding any biographical or historical information directly related to Lindbergh and his flight has been arranged by publishing date, starting from 1926, and ending in the 2000s. However, the remainder of the collection is arranged by subject. Family matters, Lindbergh’s goggles and gliders, his house, tours and receptions, memorials, magazines, and more have been separated from the biographical papers and newspaper clips and organized into folders by topic. There are seven oversized papers – 5 papers from a magazine (back to back papers in one sleeve), one blue drawing from a magazine from a souvenir booklet, and the cover of a digest with Lindbergh’s face on it - in the Oversized Material Special Collection. It is stored in OMSC_00001. Additional Lindbergh documents can be found in the Autograph Special Collection. Abstract: Charles Augustus Lindbergh (February 4, 1902 – August 26, 1974), was an American aviator, author, inventor, explorer, and social activist. The collection contains information about Charles Lindbergh and people related to him, either through business or family. The majority of the collection regarding any biographical or historical information directly related to Lindbergh and his flight has been arranged by publishing date, starting from 1926, and ending in the 2000s.

Physical Description: This folder contains a variety of papers, articles, pictures, and a scanned national geographic article regarding Lindbergh’s tour throughout the United States.
 

Folder 4 – San Diego Reception, September 21, 1927

Physical Description: This folder contains many receipts, correspondence, newspapers and clips, billing statements, and scanned newspaper articles regarding the organization of Lindbergh’s arrival, and the invitation of many important people.
 

Folder 5 – Lindbergh Gliders

Physical Description: This folder contains a few papers and newspaper articles about Lindbergh’s newfound fascination with gliders.
 

Folder 6 – Anne Morrow Lindbergh and Children

Physical Description: The majority of this folder contains information about Anne Morrow Lindbergh. There are newspaper articles, a photocopy of her marriage certificate, magazine articles, and newsletters about Lindbergh’s family and Anne Morrow’s aviation history
 

Folder 7 – Lindbergh Controversy – German Family

Physical Description: This folder contains mostly website articles, but also magazine and newspaper articles about Lindbergh’s second family in Germany, and the reunion between the American and German families.
 

Folder 8 – Medals and Awards (paper)

Physical Description: This folder contains a few articles – mostly scanned – about the awards and medals Lindbergh received for his heroic flight, for his pioneering drive in the aeronautical field (Daniel Guggenheim Medal), and the Medal of Honor he received.
 

Folder 9 – Memorials & Sculptures

Physical Description: This folder contains newspaper articles, newsletters, and a few pictures of Lindbergh’s memorial site in Hawaii. Additionally, there is correspondence, and papers from the sculptors of Lindbergh’s busts and statues. There is also a catalog listing for hundreds of Lindbergh souvenirs, a packet of Ed Leiser’s research from the Denver Public Library, and the Charles Lindbergh Bookend Project.
 

Folder 10 – Lindbergh Goggles

Physical Description: This folder contains a news release regarding the discovery of Lindbergh’s missing goggles, a photocopied check to the International Aerospace Hall of Fame, a check from the International Aerospace Hall of Fame to Michael Jancel in France, and several correspondences between Retired Col. E.F. Cary, Jr. and Mr. Everett Cassagneres and Michael Jancel.

Physical Description: This folder contains postcards, brochures, magazine articles, and newspaper articles about the Lindbergh’s childhood home.
 

Folder 12 – Lindbergh Shipping Crate

Physical Description: This folder contains a few magazine and newspaper articles concerning Lindbergh’s shipping crate when he crossed the Atlantic by boat with his disassembled Spirit of St. Louis. The shipping crate is now a museum dedicated to Lindbergh in Maine

Physical Description: This folder contains a map of Lindbergh’s Atlantic Flight with the weather fronts, a generic map of Minnesota, and several photocopied magazine articles with maps in them.
 

Folder 14 – Periodicals/Magazines

Physical Description: This folder contains many magazines with articles about Lindbergh. Magazines included are the Journal of San Diego History, Time magazine, The National Geographic Magazine, Air Power, Lindbergh, and air line pilot.
 

Folder 15 – Lindbergh Music, Poetry, Theater, etc.

Physical Description: This folder contains several poems about Lindbergh, as well as musical scores and scripts.
 

Folder 16 – Lindbergh Movies

Physical Description: The entirety of the contents in this folder came from Gary Fisk, an aviation historian. He provided a list of movie reviews and articles about the Spirit of St. Louis. There are also articles on Jasper the fly, who was Lindbergh’s (the actor) entertainer and companion during the trans-Atlantic flight in the movie Spirit of St. Louis.
 

Folder 17 – Lindbergh Bibliography & Indices

Physical Description: This folder contains a Lindbergh publication list, an index to the memorabilia of Charles Lindbergh and The Spirit, an LA Times review of Lindbergh, a NY times bibliography index from January to March, 1927, and more.
 

Folder 18 – Thomas Sefton San Diego Trust & Savings Bank Papers

Physical Description: This folder contains an assortment of documents including newspapers, correspondence, pamphlets, news articles, forms and receipts, and inventories of items that the San Diego Aerospace Museum loaned to the San Diego Trust & Savings Bank.
 

Folder 19 – Lindbergh Fund Foundation

Physical Description: This folder contains newsletters, memos, financial accounts, and articles about the Lindbergh Fund Foundation. The Foundation was created to give grants to people who would follow Charles Lindbergh’s goals of advancing technology while preserving the environment.
 

Folder 20 – Lindbergh Donations

Physical Description: This folder contains a few small donations. It includes newspaper articles, a story, newspaper clippings, and a Lindbergh article in an Aviation Stories and Mechanics magazine
 

Folder 21 – Unique Papers

Physical Description: This folder contains unusual Lindbergh items that can be somewhat humorous. There is a scrapbook filled with newspapers, a model airplane catalog, correspondence from Ret. Col. E. F. Carey Jr. to Charles Lindbergh and Anne M. Lindbergh, a newspaper clip stating that a couple named their child “One Long Hop,” an entry form and letter of Noel Davis stating that Lindbergh is no competition for him, a telegram from Mary Pickford, and more.
 

Folder 22 – Miscellaneous

Physical Description: This folder contains random documents, mostly scanned photographs and articles. There is an article in French, and two booklets with a leather sample, and articles that are indirectly related to Lindbergh.

Physical Description: This folder contains fifteen negatives and eight photographs of the Lindbergh parade and Lindbergh in person.

Physical Description: This folder contains a few cover sheets of photographs on a film roll, two articles from the Associated Press, and letters with information regarding to Charles Lindbergh and his wife Anne Morrow.

Physical Description: This folder contains two negatives, and dozens of photographs. The subjects of these photographs vary from group pictures to souvenirs, statues, Lindbergh’s Goggles, Lindbergh’s grave, and an anniversary event.
