    Biographical Note

    Susan Marsh Cranstone (or Cranston) (1829-1857) traveled from St. Joseph, Missouri to Oregon Territory in 1851. Her husband was Warren Crastone (or Cranston).

    Scope and Contents

    This is a typed copy of the daily journal of Susan Marsh Cranstone (1829-1857) on an Oregon Trail journey by covered wagon from Woodstock, Ohio to Dalles, Oregon, May 8, 1851 to Aug. 27, 1851. Includes brief entries describing Cranston's overland journey to the Pacific Northwest. Records mileage travelled, landscape features, encampments, and rivers and creeks along the route.
