    Biographical / Historical

    Palos Verdes Begonia Farm started in 1941 by Palos Verdes Peninsula resident, Gus Bauman. A family owned business, it spanned four generations and was operated by Jack Bauman and John Bauman until closing in 1998. Palos Verdes Begonia Farm specialized in raising and exporting Tuberous Begonias, becoming one of the leading suppliers of begonias in the country. In the 1960s the company expanded to other plants and garden supplies and became one of the first full service retail garden centers in the area.

    Arranged alphabetically by folder title; thereunder chronologically, with undated materials filed after dated materials. Ephemeral folders filed at end of box.

    Includes newsletters, newspaper clippings, photographs and marketing materials.

    Donated to the Local History Center by John Bauman, 2007.
