Description
The Andrew J. Eddy papers include correspondence, printed emails, clippings, press releases, and other materials, 1968-2002, many for the Broward Log Cabin Club of Florida. The collection also includes his writings, such as clippings from "Frankly Speaking," his column for Hotspots Magazine. Andrew Jay Eddy is a Republican gay activist in Broward County, Florida, working with groups like Political Advocacy Coalition Political Action Committee; Log Cabin Republicans Club; Sunshine Athletic Association; Poverello; and the Florida Gold Coast Chapter of the Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual Veterans of America.
Background
Born on August 21, 1936, Andrew J. Eddy, a New York native, later moved to Broward County, Florida. Holding a Bachelors of Science degree in Economics, he was employed by Broward Housing to secure government and private grant funding, and became a founding member of many gay and lesbian organizations in the South East, Florida. Eddy was politically active as a Republican.
