Biographical / Historical
Darryl Curran is an American artist born in 1935. He is a prominent figure in experimental photography and its push to fine
art in the 1960s and 1970s. Curran joined the faculty at California State University Fullerton in 1967 where he initiated
the B.A. and M.A. Photography programs and later served as the Department Chair from 1989 until 1999 and retired in 2001.
Darryl Curran has exhibited work in many museums including the Museum of Modern Art, International Museum of Photography/
George Eastman House, San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, Los Angeles County Museum of Art, and the Laguna Art Museum.

This collection consists of 1.21 linear feet (1 drop front Hollinger box) of material compiled by artist Darryl Curran. This
material includes photographs, a photograph portfolio, exhibition announcements for photographic shows, offset lithography
prints, a hand-tinted photograph, vintage postcards, and informational material for artists books.
