documents the 7th Marines and the context of their work in
northern China immediately following World War II through ephemera, maps, and newspapers.
Harvey J. Stefanowicz was stationed in North China from December 1945 to April 1947 with the
United States Marines.
Background
Harvey J. Stefanowicz served in the U.S. Marine Corps in China from December 1945 to April
1947. He was stationed in Tientsin [Tianjan], Tangshan, Peitaihoe Beach [Beidaihe District],
Peking [Beijing], and Chinwangtao [Qinhuangdao]. Prior to his service in North China he was
stationed in Guam from April to December 1945.
