This collection consists of recordings and related materials of the jazz flutist and
saxophonist Jerome Richardson (1920-2000), who performed with many of the great jazz
musicians of the 20th century. The collection highlights recordings at clubs, concert halls,
and rehearsals with musicians such as Mel Lewis, Thad Jones, Quincy Jones, and many others
along with interviews of Jerome Richardson and Lester Young. In addition, manuscript,
facsimile, and published copies of parts to Richardson's own composition "Groove Merchant"
have been included in the collection.
