Abstract: This collection contains books, pamphlets, magazine issues, flyers, and other material related to the opposition of economic
programs and policies introduced by President Franklin D. Roosevelt during the Great Depression. Called "The New Deal", the
purpose of these programs was to provide relief for the unemployed and poor; recovery of the economy; and reform of the financial
system in areas such as banking reform laws, emergency relief, work relief, union protection, and agriculture.

Scope and Contents
This collection contains books, pamphlets, magazine issues, flyers, and other material related to the opposition of economic
programs and policies introduced by President Franklin D. Roosevelt during the Great Depression. Called "The New Deal", the
purpose of these programs was to provide relief for the unemployed and poor; recovery of the economy; and reform of the financial
system in areas such as banking reform laws, emergency relief, work relief, union protection, and agriculture. Programs such
as Works Progress Administration (WPA), Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC), Social Security Administration (SSA), and Farm
Security Administration (FSA), were part of the New Deal.
