Background
The Quality Assurance Program has its roots with the Utilization Review Committee which was started ca. 1970. Its main goal,
in accordance with the Joint Commission's Standards for Hospital Accreditation, has been to maintain surveillance over the
quality of patient care, through studies, reviews, committees and other ongoing control and performance evaluation programs.
