    Abstract: Formed in 1953, Friends of the USC Libraries is an organization of people who support USC Libraries, whether it be by way of monetary donations or their commitment through work at the libraries. One of the aims of this organization is to enrich the cultural climate of the Southern California community at large. University Archivist, Claude Zachary, University Archivist, Claude Zachary, digitized the recordings from June to August 2020 with the exception of the Mae West recordings, done in May 2019, and the Art Buchwald recordings, done in August 2013. The news clippings were downloaded from the Digital Library and the ProQuest LA Times Historic Newspaper collection. Friends of the USC Libraries digital recordings and news clippings holds audio recordings of events, one still image of Candy Frances and Chris Bergen at a Friends of the USC Libraries event, and PDF files and Word documents of news clippings from the Los Angeles Times and Daily Trojan.     Formed in 1953, Friends of the USC Libraries is an organization of people who support USC Libraries, whether it be by way of monetary donations or their commitment through work at the libraries.     Immediate Source of Acquisition

    The original audio tapes of the recordings in this collection were digitized during the summer of 2020. Claude Zachary, University Archivist, helped collect the related news clippings included in the collection from the USC Digital Library and the ProQuest Historical Newspapers: Los Angeles Times database. Description of the collection in ArchivesSpace began in 2021.
