Biography
SDiane Bogus (b.1946) is an author, publisher, educator, spiritual healer, and actor. At various time in her life, she has
been known as SDiane Adamz-Bogus, Shariananda Adamz, and The Oracle/Sister Soul-Joiner. (She legally changed her name from
SDiane Adamz-Bogus to Shariananda Adamz, a name she accepted under divine unction.) Bogus was born in Chicago, Illinois and
partly raised in Birmingham, Alabama. She holds a B.A. from Stillman College (1968); an M.A. from Syracuse University (1969);
and Ph.Ds from Miami University (1988) and American International University (1998). Bogus also trained in massage therapy,
pranic healing, reiki, and hypnosis, and applies the principles of new age thought and ideology to her teaching, lectures,
workshops, and private psychic readings. From 1979-1999 Bogus was editor-in-chief and publisher of Woman in the Moon Publications,
a new age feminist book company. Her essays, fiction, and poetry reflect her experiences as an African American lesbian and
new age practitioner. In the 1990s, Bogus focus shifted from publishing to new age healing and psychic education. In 2001
she survived being struck by lightning, something she referred to as a life-changing event. As of 2021, Bogus was living in
Copenhagen, Denmark and was director of Oracle Shariananda's Global Healing Therapies.
