The collection contains some biographical details on Anthony DeGregorio but primarily consists of his extensive correspondence
with Italian Pentecostal pioneers and the material he collected and used in the writing of ‘The Italian Christian Movement’.
Included in his collection are draft histories of about 50 local Pentecostal congregations.
Background
Anthony DeGregorio (1905-1987) was born in Abruzzi, Italy in 1905. His parents immigrated to the United States in 1912 when
he was six years old. He was also a collector of rare books and had the desire to write the history of the pioneers of the
Italian Pentecostal movement in the United States. He started corresponding with the fathers of this movement from 1936 and
collected their biographical and ministerial details. He gave this collection of biographies the title ‘History of the Italian
Movement.’
