    Abstract: Approximately 70 publications from various Southern California churches dating from the 1950s to the 1990s. Types of publications include books and pamphlets celebrating church anniversaries, programs for building dedication ceremonies, annual reports, directories, yearbooks, promotional pamphlets, and periodicals. The majority of the publications in the collection were published by churches in the Los Angeles metropolitan area, including in Pasadena, Pomona, and Covina. However, the collection also documents a significant amount of churches in and around San Diego and at least one in Santa Barbara. Religious affiliations represented in this collection include Baptist, Buddhist, Catholic, Eastern Orthodox (Serbian, Bulgarian, Greek, and others), Episcopal, Jewish, Lutheran, Methodist, Mormon, and Presbyterian. Specific institutions that published material in this collection include the Los Angeles Hompa Hongwanji Buddhist Temple, First African American Methodist Episcopal Church of Los Angeles, the New Walker Temple African Methodist Episcopal Church, Sinai Temple (Los Angeles), the Polish Roman Catholic Church in Los Angeles, Immanuel Armenian Congregational Church, and the Buddhist Church of Santa Barbara.
