Description
The Hollywood Foreign Press Association press conference recordings span the years 1976-2005. The
audio recordings which consist of more than 5,000 cassette tapes are of press conferences hosted by the
organization for its membership. The member journalists use material from the conferences to write about
films in current release. Typically, one of the film's stars and/or the director participate in the
question and answer sessions.
Background
The Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA) is an American non-profit organization located in West
Hollywood, California. The HFPA membership consists of 90 journalists who write about the United States
film industry for newspapers and magazines in Asia, Australia, Europe, and Latin America. The
organization is best known for its annual Golden Globe Awards ceremony.
