Biographical / Historical

The Daily brothers, Erastus Wright, Charles J., and Wendell P., all arrived in Ventura County in the 1880s. E.W. Daily started out as a worker on Patterson Ranch and became a well-known farmer of sugar beets, lima beans, and walnuts in Camarillo. E.W. Daily and Etta Amelia Crowley Daily had four daughters, Nellie, Bernice, Ruth, and Gladys. The late Gladys Daily Coffman died in 1998 at the age of 97. Following her death, she donated millions to local charities and causes. She had no children or nieces or nephews. Her sister, Ruth Daily Livingston, established the Livingston Memorial Foundation, named after her late husband Dr. William R. Livingston, and which is a charity dedicated to providing medical services in Ventura County. Much of the family's estate supports local charities and services.
