Background
Margaret Edith Trussell was born January 21, 1928. She received a teaching credential Bachelors and Masters Degrees from
UC Berkeley, a Masters in education from Long Beach State College and a PhD from University of Oregon. She was a faculty
member of the Geography department at Chico State from 1966-1986. She authored six books, her research interests focused
on cultural geography and land use. She was active with the Association of Pacific Coast Geographers serving as Vice President
in 1984. She retired to her home in Bodega Bay, California in 1986 and died December 7, 1988.
