Description
Nancy Stoller was a lesbian sociology professor at the University of California, Santa Cruz, who was denied tenure in 1982 and filed a gender discrimination lawsuit against the university. This collection includes materials related to Stoller's tenure case before the Privilege and Tenure Committee; correspondence and legal documents from Shaw v. Regents of the University of California; and correspondence, publicity, and fundraising materials related to the Nancy Shaw Legal Defense Fund. (Shaw was Stoller's former married name, which she used professionally for a number of years.)
