Description
Nancy Shaw (now Nancy Stoller) was a lesbian sociology professor at the University of California, Santa Cruz, who was denied tenure in 1982 and filed a gender discrimination lawsuit against the university. This collection includes materials related to Shaw’s tenure case before the Privilege and Tenure Committee; correspondence and legal documents from Shaw v. Regents of the University of California; and correspondence, publicity, and fundraising materials related to the Nancy Shaw Legal Defense Fund.
