Background
Judyl Mudfoot (1943-) is an active member of the arts community in Santa Barbara as a poet, author, editor and print-maker.
In collaboration with editor and author Sasha Newborn, Mudfoot established Mudborn Press in 1975, characterizing the publishing
company "as a vehicle for serious and non-derivative writing." The Mudborn Press published pamphlets, advertisements, books
and booklets for businesses, organizations, and writers in Santa Barbara. Mudfoot would later install her own autonomous press
(J. Mudfoot, Printer) occasionally providing her services for free to aspiring poets at fairs.
