Abstract: Handwritten poem inscribed to 'T.W.' (Thomas Walsh, 1875-1928, American poet and translator) by Stoddard 'in memory of a happy day.' Topically the poem deals with the onset of twilight at the end of a sunny day, evoking the images of a golden winged butterfly and the shadowy hush of 'bees in the heart of a rose.' Poem is signed by Stoddard. Approximate dating of the poem is supplied based on an email from the manuscript dealer based on its proximity to other dated items in the album.
