Howard D. Troop (built 1892; bark, 4m) and Annie M. Reid (built 1892; bark, 4m) logbooks (SAFR 16441, HDC 156) contains fifteen logbooks for the four-masted bark known first as HOWARD D. TROOP and subsequently as ANNIE M. REID. The vessel was bought by San Francisco Mayor James Rolph in 1912 when she was renamed. Under the command of Captain J.A. Durkee, the bark carried coal and nitrate. There are many interesting entries related to World War I and to difficulties with the crew. The collection is available for research use without restriction.
