Biographical / Historical
The Twentieth Century-Fox Film Corporation (or 20th Century-Fox) was created through the merging of Fox Film Corporation and
Twentieth Century Pictures in 1935 in Los Angeles, California. In 1985, the studio was acquired by News Corporation and renamed
Twentieth Century Fox Film Corporation (without the hyphen). In 2019, it was acquired by Disney and in 2020 began using the
name 20th Century Studios, Inc.

Many of the photographs are warped/curling around the edges.

Scope and Contents
This collection contains movie set still books for the 20th Century-Fox Corporation with photographs taken during production
of sets for 229 films, dating from 1937 to 1954. The black-and-white photographs are bound in boards with metal fasteners
and labeled with the working movie title, director, and production number. Some are labeled "Office Copy," "Copy for Mr. Day's
Files," or "Copy from Mr. Day's Files," and a few are stamped "Please return to art department," suggesting these books may
have been used by 20th Century-Fox art department and supervising art director Richard Day.
