The Reese Erlich Collection was acquired by the Stanford Archive of Recorded Sound from
Reese Erlich in 2018.

This collection is arranged into two series: Audio recordings and Release forms.
Scope and Contents
This collection is comprised of Jazz interviews and features compiled by Reese Erlich
dating from 1994-2017.
Biographical / Historical
Reese Erlich (1947-) is an award winning freelance journalist and activist.
In 1968-9 Erlich worked as a staff writer and research editor for Ramparts, a national
investigative reporting magazine published in San Francisco. His Radio stories have been
broadcast on NPR, CBC (Canada), ABC (Australia), and Radio DW. He writes a nationally distributed
column Foreign Correspondent.
Erlich has produced Jazz Perspectives for public radio stations and online through Jazz
Corner. Jazz Perspectives are produced features profiling jazz, blues and Latin musicians.
From 2015-17 he wrote an arts and culture column for The East Bay Monthly magazine.
