Abstract: Organizational records of the Santa Barbara Public Library, including annual reports, correspondence, clippings, photographs,
scrapbooks, deeds and contracts, registers, circulation and catalog books, dating from the 1870s through the 2010s. Scrapbooks
include a complete collection of Faulkner Gallery art exhbition catalogs, with press clippings, from 1929 to 1937, as well
as some artifacts, artwork, and ephemera.

Scope and Content
Organizational records of the Santa Barbara Public Library, including annual meeting reports, correspondence, clippings, photographs,
scrapbooks, deeds and contracts, expansion and building proposals, hearings and reports, master plans, celebrations news releases,
Black Gold reports, registers, acccession, circulation and catalog books, bibliographies, as well as Library branch records,
dating from the 1870s through the 2010s. Scrapbooks include a complete collection of Faulkner Gallery art exhbition catalogs,
with press clippings, from 1929 to 1941. The collection also includes some artifacts, artwork, and ephemera.
Scrapbooks and other records cover the Santa Barbara Public Library and its branches, including the Central Library, Eastside
Library, Carpinteria Library, Montecito Library, Goleta Library, Solvang Library, and other branches. Annual meeting reports
stretch from 1909 to 1977.
Library activities and programs covered include the Adult Literacy Program, the Children's Library, the Bookmobile, Children's
Poster Week, and school visits throughout Santa Barbara County and the Central Coast region of California.
