    Abstract: This collection of photographs is the result of a Photography class project assigned by Lisa Auerbach for the fall and spring semesters between 2003 and 2006. The purpose of the project was to document the surrounding areas of USC, with each student choosing a particular block to document. The project's end goal was to contribute to the USC Libraries' Regional History Collection, allowing the students' work to assist future historians and researchers understand what Los Angeles looked like in the early 21st century.

    Scope and Contents

    This collection of photographs is the result of a Photography class project assigned by Lisa Auerbach for the fall and spring semesters between 2003 and 2006. The purpose of the project was to document the surrounding areas of USC, with each student choosing a particular block to document. They could elect to photographs buildings (interiors or exteriors), residents, cars, or events taking place within the confined borders. Each student was instructed to submit seven photographs plus contact sheets, and shoot a minimum of five rolls of film.
    The project's end goal was to contribute to the USC Libraries Regional History Collection, allowing the students' work to assist future historians and researchers understand what Los Angeles looked like in the early 21st century.
    This collection is comprised of photographs and contact sheets in folders organized by the names of the students. Each folder also includes an autobiographical statement from the students explaining where they're from, why they've come to Los Angeles, and what they are studying at USC.
