creator:
Gay Freedom Day Committee.
The Gay Freedom Day Parade and Fair was the name of San Francisco's annual gay pride parade (by the early 1980s the event
was referred to as Lesbian/Gay Freedom Day). In 1977 parade and festival attendance burgeoned in response to national anti-LGBT
initiatives supported by Anita Bryant and others.
