Historical Note
The San Diego County Commission on the Status of Women was established by the County Board of Supervisors on May 26, 1970.
It acts as an advisory unit and aims to study policies and acts of potential discrimination, provide public information through
workshops and hearings, and establish programs to promote equal opportunities. The activities of the Commission include participation
in the San Diego County Women's Hall of Fame induction ceremonies, hosting luncheons and celebrations, and data collection
on groups such as homeless women and elderly women, as well as many other undertakings.
