The collection documents the activities of the Third District PTA and its councils and units, including the Sacramento Council and PTA units from schools in Sacramento, Placer, El Dorado, Yolo, Colusa, Nevada, Sutter, and Yuba counties. Material dates from 1918 to 1996 and includes scrapbooks, meeting minutes, news clippings, public relations records, photographs, and historian records. A number of Sacramento County schools are represented in the collection.

Biographical / historical:

The Third District PTA is one of the California PTA's 34 districts. Based in Sacramento, the Third District coordinates district councils and individual PTA units at school districts within Sacramento, Placer, El Dorado, Yolo, Colusa, Nevada, Sutter, and Yuba counties.
