Description
This diary is a handwritten daily record of a wagon journey from Rall Co, Missouri to Carson City, Nevada in 1847. Arthur Menefee was the captain of the wagon train on a journey that took 5 months. He was ill most of the trip and died in Carson City in 1858. The diary provides few references to other people on the trip; it is primarily focused on a daily description of the trail conditions, distance traveled, weather and wood, grass and water at each camp.
