The photograph was donated in December 2016 to San Francisco Maritime National Historical Park by Steven Henderson, grandson
of Thomas S. Henderson, son of Thomas F. Henderson, and nephew of Jerry Henderson.

The Henderson family photograph, 1960-1964, (SAFR 24856, P16-016) is comprised of a copy photograph of an original half-tone
print of waterskiing in Aquatic Park during a Columbus Day celebration, San Francisco, California. The collection has been
processed to the Item level and is open for use.
Contains one black-and-white copy photographic print, 8 x 10 in., of a Chris Craft power yacht pulling five water-skiers in
the cove adjacent to Aquatic Park, San Francisco, California, during a Columbus Day celebration, 1960-1964. The five men are
in a pyramid formation with three men on the bottom and two men standing on top of the three men's shoulders. The man driving
the Chris Craft (#28 K 1468) is Thomas S. Henderson, a member of the Mariposa Boat Club in San Francisco. The passenger in
the boat is Jerry Henderson. Two of the water-skiers are identified as Thomas F. Henderson (top right) and Dutch Sewell (lower
right).
In the background is the Sea Scout base, with sailboats and power boats docked alongside. The pumping station is partially
in view in the right background, located at the foot of Van Ness Avenue.
