Scope and Contents

This collection contains three correspondence from Private First Class Robert Parsons, United States Army to his girlfriend Olive M. Violante during the Second World War. The two were from Detroit, Michigan and each correspondence was a postcard.
A postcard featuring the Île de la Cité and another with an embroidered pastoral scene and the words, "to my dear sweetheart" were mailed from Paris. The third postcard of Grotte du Mont Blanc was mailed from the French Alps. Parsons wrote that he was "having a wonderful time" in both places, but wished that he was back with Violante "and the others." The photograph is a portrait of Parsons in uniform.
