Scope and Content of Collection
This small, artificial collection consists of various programs for theater and film and concert, mostly in Los Angeles. The
majority of materials date from the first half of the twentieth century. Important examples of theater programs include Tallulah
Bankhead in "Rain" (1935), a Sam Harris production at the Music Box; a program and script for Sarah Bernhardt in Alexandre
Dumas' play "Camille" (1910); handbills for Helen Hayes in "Harriet," at the Geary Theatre; Ethel Barrymore at the Biltmore
Theatre in Los Angeles; and two programs from Marian Anderson concerts in Los Angeles (1939). Also of interest are the official
program of the Xth Olympic Games in Los Angeles (1932) as well as the instructions for the teams' procession in the opening
ceremony and a booklet on the Los Angeles Coliseum and its role in this Olympiad. Historical materials include Los Angeles
Title Guarantee and Trust Company booklets on Santa Monica and missions in Los Angeles and Orange counties. Materials are
arranged in unnumbered folders or else mylar sleeves.
